Chemical peels are one of the most versatile and effective professional beauty procedures available today. They use carefully selected acids or enzymes to remove the outermost layers of skin, triggering controlled renewal that results in smoother texture, brighter tone, and visibly reduced skin concerns. But with so many types available, it can be hard to know which peel is right for you.
How Chemical Peels Work
A chemical peel solution is applied to cleansed skin, where it begins to dissolve the bonds holding dead surface cells together. As these cells are removed, the skin responds by accelerating cell turnover — producing fresher, more evenly toned skin from beneath.
Peels range from very superficial (affecting only the outermost layer) to medium-depth (reaching into the upper dermis). At iluexpert, all our peels are superficial to medium-superficial — effective without requiring significant downtime.
Types of Chemical Peels We Offer
Easy Droxy Glycolic Peel — A 5-acid complex combining glycolic, lactic, salicylic, tartaric, and citric acids. Ideal for dull skin, enlarged pores, uneven tone, and mild acne. Little-to-no peeling, suitable for most skin types. From €70.
Rose de Mer Coral Peel — A unique, high-performance Christina Cosmetics peel using crushed marine coral and plant extracts. Delivers significant skin resurfacing, effectively reducing scars, deep wrinkles, and pigmentation. Visible peeling over 3–7 days; excellent results after a single session. From €90.
Comodex Acne Care Peel — Targets active breakouts and oily skin using salicylic acid and sebum-regulating actives. Reduces inflammation, unclogs pores, and helps prevent future breakouts. From €75.
Bio Phyto Rosacea Facial Peel — Gentle enzyme-based exfoliation designed for sensitive, redness-prone skin. Calms reactivity without triggering flares. From €80.
TIMECODE Retinol Yellow Peel — A professional retinol and vitamin C peel for anti-aging and brightening. Addresses fine lines, loss of firmness, and uneven skin tone with no visible peeling. From €95.
What to Expect During and After
During the procedure, you may feel a mild tingling or warmth — this is normal. Sessions typically last 30–60 minutes including preparation, application, and neutralisation.
After a superficial peel: slight redness for 1–2 hours, possible mild flaking over 2–3 days. Your skin will look brighter and feel smoother.
After the Rose de Mer peel: visible skin shedding over 3–7 days is normal and expected. Results after the full shedding cycle are significant.
Aftercare Tips
Regardless of peel type, follow these guidelines for the best results:
Use SPF 30–50 every morning for at least 2 weeks. Post-peel skin is more photosensitive — sun exposure without protection will undo your results and risk hyperpigmentation.
Keep skin well-hydrated. Use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturiser and avoid active ingredients (retinol, acids, vitamin C serums) for 5–7 days post-peel.
Do not pick or peel flaking skin manually. Let it shed naturally to avoid scarring or uneven results.
Avoid heat (saunas, hot showers, exercise) for 24–48 hours post-peel.
Our cosmetologists provide detailed post-care instructions tailored to the specific peel you receive. If you are unsure which peel is right for your concerns, book a consultation at iluexpert and we will recommend the ideal starting point for your skin.
